Privacy Policy

How Aim History collects, stores, and handles email signup details and messages from readers, along with the choices available to you.

This Privacy Policy explains how Aim History handles information supplied through its email signup form and contact address at launch. It describes what is collected, why it is collected, how long signup records remain stored, and how you can ask about your information.

Joining the Aim History email list

Aim History invites readers to join its list for stories about everyday life, remarkable changes, and the people and ideas behind them. The signup form asks for your email address and requires you to accept this statement: “I agree to receive email updates from Aim History.”

When you sign up, the website stores your email address in its WordPress database. It also stores a duplicate-check value made from a standardized version of the address, the signup time, the page path where you signed up, the consent wording you accepted, and the collection status. The stored page path excludes query strings and page fragments.

The form uses basic anti-spam checks. It also uses short-lived, hashed network identifiers to limit repeated submissions. These help the form recognize repeated activity without storing the original network identifier for that check.

At launch, the service collects signup details for future publication updates. Newsletter confirmation, delivery, and related sending features are a separate future setup stage.

How signup records are stored

Signup records remain in the website’s WordPress database until an authorized administrator removes them or processes an erasure request. Authorized WordPress administrators can view and export these records, remove individual entries, and use WordPress personal-data tools to include them in an export or erasure process.

When you send us a message

If you email contact@aimhistory.com, your message supplies your email address, the text of your message, and any files you attach. Aim History uses this information to understand and handle your question or request. Please include only attachments and details that are relevant to your message.

Accessing or removing your signup information

You can email contact@aimhistory.com to ask whether Aim History holds your signup information, request a copy of the record, or ask for its removal. Please identify the email address used to sign up so the relevant record can be located. You can use the same contact route for questions about these launch privacy practices.

Your choices and other websites

Joining the list is optional. The checkbox records your agreement to the stated email-update wording, and you can later request removal of your signup record through the contact address above.

Aim History articles may link to other websites. Those websites manage their own information practices, so review their privacy information when you visit or use them.
